Lee Kum Kee “My Fun Cooking 2017”, co-organised by Lee Kum Kee and Desa Home, successfully concluded at One Space @ The Square at One City yesterday. Winning teams from the first three rounds of the competition competed with an artiste and MMA Star, Mr. Peter Davis for the championship. After fierce competition, little chef Hun Zhi Yean and his mother Ms. Yap Chin Yew made it to the victory stage, making the judges and audience amazed by their culinary talents and creativity.
“My Fun Cooking 2017” is staged for the purposes of encouraging young children in Malaysia to explore their inner cooking talents and enjoy joyous cooking moments with their family members. The first three rounds of the competition were held on 15, 22 and 29 October. Four out of 12 teams successfully got into the finale.

Mr. Peter Davis demonstrated his impressive culinary skills outside the MMA cage by preparing two dishes with prawn as the main ingredient. The palatable dishes excited the judges’ taste buds.

Each participating team requires two family members to take part, with one of them being a child aged between 10 and 18 and the other one being their parent or guardian.

All teams were given a fixed budget to buy ingredients from SK Market, one of the event sponsors, in 30 minutes. After that, they had to prepare appetisers and main dishes within an hour using prawn as the main ingredient and Lee Kum Kee sauces.

Check out the masterpiece cook by the 5 contestants. The prawn were nicely cook, the smell and presentation were equally great. And the judges were ready to try the dishes. I also can't wait to try all the dishes too.
During the event, Chef Chan Ki Hong was invited to showcase the diverse applications of Lee Kum Kee’s sauces and condiments in a cooking demonstration. Three dishes, named “Flavoured Chicken Popcorn”, “Vegetarian Spring roll” and “Three Treasures Rice”, were prepared featuring both signature sauces of Lee Kum Kee like Premium Oyster Sauce and XO Sauce, as well as brand-new innovative sauces like the Asian Twist Salad Dressing range.
